REmu — Terms of Use

By installing or using REmu (the “App”), you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
1. No Bundled Games or BIOS Files
REmu does not provide, distribute, or include any commercial game ROMs, BIOS files, firmware, copyrighted artwork, or other proprietary content. The only software bundled with the App is:
- the original Coilpede mini-game, written entirely by the developer, and
- the emulation framework itself.
2. Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the legality of any file you import into the App. By importing a ROM, BIOS image, or any other file, you confirm that one of the following is true:
- (a) you legally own the original game cartridge, disc, or console, and you produced the file by dumping hardware you own; or
- (b) the file is free homebrew, public domain, or otherwise covered by a license that permits your use.
You are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
3. No ROM Sharing or Piracy Facilitation
REmu does not include, link to, embed, or otherwise facilitate access to any ROM download service, BIOS distribution site, or piracy resource. Downloading or distributing ROMs of games you do not own is illegal in most jurisdictions and constitutes a violation of these terms and your local copyright law.
4. Game Cover Art
When a cover image is not embedded in an imported ROM, the App may request a publicly hosted box-art image from the open-source libretro-thumbnails project. The image is stored locally for display in your library only. No personally identifiable information is transmitted as part of this lookup.
5. Privacy
REmu stores all save states, imported files, and cover art locally on your device. No game data, save states, or imported ROMs are uploaded to any server, and the developer has no access to them. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
6. Trademarks
REmu is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo Co., Ltd., Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc., Microsoft Corporation, or any other console manufacturer. All trademarks, product names, console designs, and logos are the property of their respective owners. References to console names or system identifiers within the App are for technical interoperability only.
7. No Warranty
REmu is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The developer is not liable for any damages, data loss, hardware issues, or legal consequences arising from your use of the App or any content you choose to load into it.
8. Updates and Changes
The developer may update the App and these terms over time. Material changes will be announced in app release notes. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
9. Termination
If you violate these terms, your right to use the App ends immediately. You may stop using the App at any time by removing it from your device.
